Drug Abuse

  • Drug abuse is a biological and pathological process that alters the way brain functions. Drug abuse results in changes in brain chemistry, thus entrapping a victim.
  • Drugs or chemicals commonly being abused include: Cocaine, Heroin, Marijuana, LSD (Acid), DMA (Ecstasy), Prescription drugs, Amphetamines, Anabolic steroids and Club drugs
  • It’s critical to determine the root cause of drug or substance addiction. Life's distress, feelings of hopelessness ,lack of love and inability to adjust in one’s life are usually key factors behind addiction.
  • Abstinence from drugs and enrolment in rehab programmes are important. Detoxification is especially helpful.
  • Lean on close friends and family; their support helps in complete recovery.
  • Medications, psychotherapy and counselling are of great help in healing.
  • Recovery is never out of reach, no matter how hopeless one's situation.
